Ben Eikey, State Training and Communications Manager at the Levin Center, joined the Nebraska Legislature on October 20, 2021 for a two-hour oversight workshop on Nebraska’s current legislative oversight. Following presentations by the Fiscal Office, Performance Audit, and Ombudsman, Eikey’s presentation covered the stages of a legislative investigation and offered several recommendations to enhance Nebraska’s legislative oversight. Following the workshop, Eikey testified to Nebraska’s Executive Board of the Legislative Council on Legislative Resolution 226, a resolution to conduct an interim study on current oversight efforts in the Nebraska Legislature and identifying potential improvements.
